DENMAN ISLAND COMMONS is a blog designed as an online venue where islanders can share opinions, ideas, and sources of information and support related to local issues. DI COMMUNITY VEGAN POTLUCK SERIES - Approximately once a month, food lovers of every persuasion are invited to participate in a vegan-friendly smorgasbord in the Community Centre's back hall. Dinner is followed by a film, guest speaker, or some other type of cultural presentation generally reflective of social justice or environmental awareness issues. Everyone welcome; admission by donation.
Denman Island MEOW Society - Humane population reduction of homeless cats, is the goal of Denman Island's grassroots MEOW Society (Make Every One Wanted). Find information here about community supported reduced cost spay and neuter clinics for both the domesticated and non-domesticated cats that share our island home, as well as cats in need of adoption.
THE MUSIC OF KEVIN MITCHELL -- Influenced by a wide variety of styles -- folk and blues, country and world beat. Take a look at Kevin's site and Dig Your Roots! Bed & Breakfasts, Guest Houses and Retreats Accommodations for your petsFillongley Park is located on the east side of the island. If you explore this eighty-acre park, you will discover huge old growth fir and cedar trees, fern gullies, a native midden and a peaceful meadow surrounded by beautiful heritage trees. In the meadow is the grave of George Beadnell, who homesteaded Fillongley and donated it as a park. Follow the creek trail out of the meadow for an easy circuit of about half an hour, or spend the afternoon beach-combing. The wild flowers in this park are at their best in April & May.

Denman Island MEOW (Make Every One Wanted) Society is a non-profit
society organized to make low-cost spay/neuter services available to
low-income cat-owners on Denman Island. We also spay and neuter feral
cats. Denman Community Forest Cooperative Denman Island Community School Denman Conservancy Association Denman Community Home Page Hermitage Buddist Retreat Centre -- A Western Buddhist spiritual practice centre located on Denman Island. Islands Trust -- Local Government on Denman Island is shared by the Islands Trust which looks after planning and land use regulation, and the Regional District of Comox-Strathcona, which looks after various service components. The Regional District of Comox-Strathcona is a partnership of nine electoral areas and eight municipalities in the mid-to-northern part of Vancouver Island, plus Denman and Hornby islands, providing services ranging from parks to full-service sports facilities to nearly 100,000 residents.
