Malcolm Fletcher's Bio

Malcolm was born in Halifax and educated in both French and English in Ontario, Germany, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, the United States and British Columbia. He holds both Canadian and British (European Union) passports. The emphasis of his education has been on the Arts, both Fine and Graphic, but his interests have led him towards Automotive Design. His principal hobby has been the Volkswagen 'Beetle', 'Cochinelle', 'Käfer', 'Vocho' or a dozen other names. He has refurbished one 'Beetle' and conducted a ground-up restoration on another. The photographs show the start with a $40.00 body and the result, with no 'outside contracting'. Malcolm recently completed his Recreational Pilot Licence and has checked out on both family aeroplanes; he has a special passion for the Piper Colt and is airborne at every opportunity. Malcolm resided in Ottawa until recently but has now moved back to British Columbia where, not surprisingly, he sells Volkswagens. He may be contacted by clicking here
